    Does bankruptcy affect my inheritance?
    My brother declared himself bankrupt in August 2007, since then my mother has passed away leaving a property, the property has got to be split between the four of us how does this leave my brother

    If it was full bankruptcy and he was adjudicated bankrupt he is on the same footing as the rest of you which is - he is entitled to inherit.

    If this is not the case he most definitely has to discuss this with his Attorney and bring it to the Court's attention. Obviously his asset situation will change.
