    Diagnosing and changing an old oxygen sensor
    My car is very tricky about starting; sometimes it will, sometimes not. A friend said it is probably the O2 sensor; If I order the part myself, is it difficult to change as long as I have the correct socket? The part is $83.00 if I buy it myself and I was told to get a socket with a split; the only thing I can find that closely resembles this is an O2 Sensor socket set that comes in different sizes. How do I tell if it is the right socket for a 1992 Honda Civic, and once I get the old sensor off is it hard to put the new one on and attach it to the computer? Or does a 92 civic have a computer? Help.:eek:

    I'm skeptical that the oxygen sensor is the real cause behind your car being hard to start. Make sure you have maintained the electrical system in great shape. If not, replace the spark plugs (NGK only), spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor. On many of these old Hondas, replacing the Ignition Control Module and coil is the key to restoring reliability and performance. Reading Sections A and B below may help:
