    In need to break lease in OREGON
    I am wanting to move but have signed a lease. If I was to be transferred by my job would I be able to get out of my lease? How would it affect my roomates? I live in Oregon

    Hello can:

    You can't break your lease. If your company transferred you, THEY should pay your lease. After all, companies DO know that their employees HAVE rental commitments.

    How does it affect your roommates?? They'll have to pay more, or get another roommate.

    The way you word your question makes me think that you've decided you want to move and are trying to finagle a way to have an excuse... "if I was to be transferred by my job"

    Even if you "were to be transferred" by your job, that won't get you out of your obligation you agreed to by signing the lease. Why not try to find a good replacement for yourself and approach your room mates and landlord with your proposition. If you're willing to make things right and not cost anyone else hardship or out of pocket expense I don't know why they wouldn't work with you.

    You will have to either continue to pay your lease until the landlord fids a new tenant or help find another roommate to take your place,
