How about taking the cat? Cats puke sometimes -- it's a fact of life. If she can't deal with that, she shouldn't have cats.

Vomiting can be due to so many different reasons. The easiest one to solve though is hairballs. Don't know that it can be stopped, but surely can be limited by simple brushing every day, and giving the hairball gunk from the store. It can also be an issue with food, and if that's the case, doing a trial with no grain, one protein source canned foods might find the problem. That requires not giving in to any other food and some patience.

But it could also be other stuff. If she's puking all the time, I'd be tending to think more towards food problems or another problem that needs a vet's attention. If it's occasional, it might be the hairballs. I can't explain why the night thing. That's not something I'm familiar with.

I'm not sure about cats but dogs throw up if they have worms or if they eat grass.

Indoor Formula cat food with hairball control really helps. It does not eliminate the problem completely, but will make a big difference.

Indoor formula foods are nothing but less meat and more plant. And even high carb. And basically just that much more of how a cat DOES NOT eat. All those carbs kill their pancreas and cause diabetes. Stay away from that stuff.
