    Intalling new kitchen hose
I am trying to intall a new kitchen hose with sprayer. My old sprayer broke off inside the hose so I went to Home depot and bought a universal sprayer and universal hose. I got the old hose disconnected but now I can not get the new hose to go through the faucet. Any suggestions? I have a Kohler faucet.
    Thanks.

I am having sprayer issues as well.. but of a different kind. If I understand your problem I would suggest that you take the sprayer head off and feed that end up through the hole from the under side of the sink. You may also need to remove the metal clamp/ring and then put it back on after you feed it through.

If you saved the old hose try connecting that up again and just change the sprayer head. See if that works. My old sprayer head's handle broke and I had to replace just the sprayer part and kept my old hose.
You may have to put the hose through the hole in the sink first before connecting it up.

    Hi all:

    Look at the pictures below...

Hopefully it explains what you need to know.

The retainer clip (under washer) is tough to remove, but if you use two screwdrivers you can POP it off!

Let us know if need more...

AND TURTLEY how can we help you?

Hi massplumber2008, I posted this question and may have it resolved but would certainly appreciate your input as well... We lease a summer cabin that the sink sprayer hose has been removed and capped off. I puchased a universal sprayer but it doesn't match the fittings on the old sink. It seems the threads on the sink are maybe 1/4 and the compression fitting on the sprayer is 3/8. I've installed several sinks and sprayers and have never seen this before. It was suggested that I purchase several sizes of copper reducers to take with me and try. The cabin is miles from a decent hardware store. I don't know the brand of the faucet either. What do you think? Thanks! PS Desperate House, sorry to horn in on your post here.

    Hi Turtley:

Hey, from what you just posted I am thinking you should remove the cap that is capping the spray attachment and then take that AND the universal hose set-up and make it so it all matches up IN STORE... then take it home and finish this sweet and easy!

It means two trips... but it also means a completed job without much hassle guessing which fittings work at your cabin (just to find you don't even have the right reducer... ;) )

Let me know what you think...

I wish I had brought it home with me yesterday but I was hurrying to get back to town. We are going back tomorrow and that may be what I'll have to do. Maybe the small town hardware will have what I need. Thanks!

Mark, Sweet and easy is what I was thinking when I went to install the new hose. Its funny my husband always says to me "why is it every 20 minute job turns into 2 hours with you?" My response is "you just never know what you are going to run into". Makes every project fun though. And hey I got another new tool out of the deal! You got to love that! Karrie

Hi! Wanted to post that I successfully installed the kitchen sink sprayer at the cabin. Went back to the hardware store and figured that the compression fitting for the sprayer hose was 1/2". The only reducer available was 1/2" to 1/4". So I puchased that (inside thread). Hard to know when you do not have the parts right in front of you... Anyway, from there it was a couple of minutes - sweet and easy! I love my new sprayer! I also love my new Basin Wrench! I told my 10 year old son it has replaced the fly swatter to keep him in line! Just kidding!

Also, if you are in question about the size of the connections. I found that some sprayers come with adapters for the same price.
