What are my rights as a co-signer
I co-signed for my daughter for a very nice home and she is allowing her friends to come over and drink and party and destroy the home.
I know I am responsible for the payments if they don't get paid but do I have any rights regarding protecting the property value?

I have never heard of anything like that. You might want to check into seeing if there are insurances that might cover something like that.

Unless you are also a part owner in the property instead of just a co-signer, you have no control over what she does with the house.

You own the debt not necessarily the property. Like previous posts, it all depends on whose name is on the deed.

My husband and I are very upset...

I have a question. I recently got an auto-loan with my friend co-signed for me, since my credit wasn't good enough to get a regular loan. Supposedly, I was in the prime and my friend is co-signer... which I don't really understand what they meant by me being prime... Anyway, I have no...

A friend (creditor/client) of mine co-signed a loan. The balance is $5400. I missed some payments and he paid them. I am now paying the $200 a month. In the meantime, he has turned the loan to a collection agency, Chase Receivables who sent me a letter saying that I owe a balance of $14,000. ...

Rights to Co-Signer [ 2 Answers ]

I have a question about the rights of a co-signer. I am looking to get about a $100,000 first time home buyers loan. My father wants to be a co-signer on the loan. I know that if I can't pay the mortgage off, he will be the one to take on the bill. However, what other rights would he have to...
