I am wondering how men show dominance? What kinds of words / tricks do they do?

Not letting you think for yourself.
Using sex, money, lack of affection to control you.

Rotted from the ancient time, men are hunters while their wives are homemakers. The former are expected to excercise all its strenght to provide. Their ability to provide is almost synonymous to a mans masculinity thus, it is important for them to feel successful on whatever they do.

On a negative side, some men shows emotional control (like make someone feel hostaged to stay with them), physical control (violence), tyranny (where anyone can't say their piece) and some lowers their partners self esteem ("you are nothing", "you will never make it", "whore").

Acceptable dominance is seen in a good and fair leader. The words and acts used by leaders build others up and build confidence in those people.

Unacceptable dominance can be used by a man to control a person or a situation for their own ends. The words and acts used by a controlling male are designed to tear others down and to make them fearful.

Which type of dominance are you interested in. Is the word dominant the only word that fits what you are trying to learn about? The meaning of "dominant," when referring to a man can make many women cringe in distaste.

    Negative dominance:
They play games to get their own way. They accuse wrongly. They have all kinds of tricks. They passively aggressively make you feel guilty and wrong when they are the ones that are in the wrong. They start an argument so they can get mad and go to the bar. They treat you like I AM the male so it is my way or the highway.

    Positive dominance:
They are the head of the house in that they make a relationship work.
They care about your feelings and take you into consideration.
