    Do you have to be a certain shape to become a singer
    I want to b a singer, but I am large. Is this a disadvantage?

    Nope. The best example I can give you is Aretha Franklin. She's a big girl AND a legend. R-E-S-P-E-C-T!!

    No, (2 young.) I trying to make a CD. I am going to put it on YouTube or MySpace. I'll keep you posted, if I can't get on the internet, I'll just wait until I am old enough to get on American Idol. Thanxs!

    Depends on what you want to do - Jennifer Hudson is certainly a "large" woman. She's lost weight since she gained national fame.

    If you want to be a singer and compete with other singers the total package has to be what will sell - and weight, unfortunately, is part of that. If you are thinking live performances, perhaps musicals, yes, your weight can and will limit the roles you can "fit."

    If you get famous first and then lose weight, well, that's a different thing.

    Take a look at your favorite singers and you will see just what "sells" and what does not.
