    24yrs old international student theft under 5000?
    24yrs old international student theft under 5000?
    My girlfrind is chrged theft under 5000 last week in Canada.
    She was in shopping mall stole about 4 -5 different lady's clothes. This is her first time did this .Recently she coudn.t sleep for a long time then went to shopping mall. She got chought then went to police station finger print then was free to go .but she still needs to go to the court a month later. What can we do... I am her boyfriend I really want to something for her .However since both we are internatinal sutdents we really don't have anyidea. I asked my canadian friend he told me she will be OK . Maybe she needs to do sme community service for several hours. I am really afraid if she kill her self .she doesn't eat . Also I am really afriad if she has to leave here. Getting a lawyer will be so expensive? She really needs to have one? Thank you guys.

    She could be in danger of being deported - I don't think it will happen but it could happen. I would definitely get an Attorney. If she is suicidal you must get her some mental health help.

    She might get off easy; she might not; she is not a Canadian citizen and has stolen in Canada. Depends on whether somebody wants to make an example of her.

    (Why did you mention the Nytol?)
