    Lcd TV hook ups
Hello, this is my first question so here goes
I have a pioneer dvd player with hdmi output on it as well as optical and rca outputs
The TV is a Samsung 46" lcd with matching inputs.
Now is it possible to use the hdmi lead from the dvd to the lcd, then using the optical cable to go from the lcd to the av receiver ? For the audio
(base model pioneer av receiver it don't have hdmi)
Also my foxtel satellite box has a hdmi output on it as well, so can I also hook it up the same way utilizing the same optical lead from the lcd to the av receiver ?
Then just switch the different inputs with the av receiver ?
To me this sounds easy, and simple and no messy cables lying around.

    Cheers for now
