What is the statue of limitations on wage garnishments in CA?
I think the "Statue Of Limitations" is up on my case. Does the case close automatically or do I need to see a Judge & ask him to close the case? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about a Judgment that you believe is about to expire? Statute "usually" refers to the time in which something can be acted upon - for example, a debt must be put into collection within a certain time frame.

Here's the law in California: "Judgments are enforceable for 10 years and are renewable for another 10 years and then renewable after that. Once a judgment's been renewed, it can't be renewed again until 5 years later. When the judgment is renewed, the interest that has accrued will be added to the principal amount owing. From that point on the creditor is entitled to interest on the accrued interest. "

First off, thank you Judy Kay.

It has been a little more than 10 years since the Judgement against me was given, if they were to renew the Judgement would I be notified?

Normally they merely file papers with the court, in most cases no you would not know they renewed it. You can check with the court to see if they did.

    Thank you Chuck

If they have not filed for a renewal what do I have to do to have the case closed?

    Thanks again!
