    Adding a bathroom to a basement
    First I apologize for anything that you experts may think is a silly question here :)

    I'm getting this house with a basement that has a nice big room and needs a powder room. I was told there are quite a few people who want to do this, but going into the slab is pricey. The perfect spot has another powder room directly above on the 2nd floor and I can use the same configuration, so I think tapping into plumbing wouldn't be so hard, right? The trick is, how can we tap into the sewer line, is it impossible without breaking the slab? Can I just use a wall toilet since there will be an existing line there? Would I have to go with a pricey saniflow system to do this?

    Thanks I appreciate your help. Either way, does anyone have an idea of what it will cost me? I don't need anything fancy, just need it to be done.

    One more thing, its not actually a "basement" per se, it's the bottom floor of a 3 story town home.

    You haven't told us what you wish to install in the powder room. This is doable if you don't wish a shower installed.
    A rear discharge toilet coming off the stack vent from the upper powder room and a lavatory armed out of the same stack with a vent through the roof or revented back into a existing dry vent. Do you need help in locating a rear discharge bowl? Regards, Tom

    The powder room is just a sink and toilet, so no shower - exactly as the one upstairs in the same spot. And yes, I would be happy to see what you suggest for the toilet :)
