Big Stomach?
When I stand up, I see my stomach.. did I have a big meal? Do I have air? It's not fat.. it's just that it's big.
I am pretty fit except my stomach, I heard that I should do crunches. My question is.. how high do you have to go for crunches? And how much should I do?

Well there's a lot of facts missing. Do you feel you overweight? Exercise of course will help tone your stomach muscles up as long as your watching your food intake and the types of foods your eating, Smaller amounts of healthy foods are a must. Cutting out fried, fatty and excess sugars will also help you lose excess body fat. And exercise every day for at least 1 hour. Crunches alone are not a sole solution to reduce a stomach. If your basically in good shape and don't feel you have a weight issue, and yet your stomach is that extended, I would advise seek medical advice and see if there is another problem>

I was told by my fitness coach at the club that unless I loose some of the weight, tightening up my abdominals will push my stomach out further... what lovelesspa said...

Some people do 20-25 crunches and do it a couple times.. personaly I do as many as I can do then see if I can't beet my record.. also you can do more than crunches try jogging in morning.. also if you are going to be doing crunches you must do something to work youw back like planks.. ill explain.. crunches work your abs, planks work your back.. your abs and back are opposite mustles and pull on each other to keep you uprighe.. someone who has a six pack and has a week back will have major back problems later in their lifting.

Well, I jog a lot, and I do not feel overweight. I just want to get rid of my stomach, and does crunches really push your stomach further?

If you build up the muscle without losing any fat tissue, then yes... your stomach will bulge out. Are you sure it is not your eating habits?

Hmmm, I'll see what I eat. What else can I do? I already do enough jogging.

Make sure your eating correct portion, that is, like 3 oz. of protein, lean meats, like skinless chicken, turkey breast, loin type meats, fish. With this add veggies, beans, legumes and some fruit. Cut out presweetened drinks, soda, and drink lots of water instead. Cut out fried, fatty, and fast foods. Sweets, like candy, cakes need to be cut out at least for awhile. Also try to cut out snacks like chips, or high sodium products. Read nutritional labels on the foods you eat and stick to the one serving size. Eat whole grain products like wheat breads, cereals, pastas and rice instead of white flour. Make sure your getting low fat dairy, yogurt, milk cheese. at least 3 servings a day. If you'll walk or jog, or bike 1 mile a day, or swim, aerobics, resistance training this will help tone you up and burn calories. But exercise is a big part of it along with checking into how you are eating and the amounts.
