    Calculating past salaries
I've been asked to come up with a salary history that is over 10 years old. I vague recollections of approximate numbers. I'm recently returning to the work force after a 6 year hiatus and I didn't anticipate such an inquiry. I was thinking that I could my social security taxes paid to figure out my salary per year. This information is available by year I know since I received a statement a while back. Any ideas about the calculation? I live in Michigan. Does that make a difference? Do all employers have to pay the same tax rate? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

They are wanting to most likely try and base your new offer on past earnings, So you could call the companies you used to work for and get a figure, You could get copies of past tax returns, or you could just take an educated guess and then make sure you don't accept a offer that is too low based on 10 year old earnings
