    Hate electric fireplace
We have recently purchased a new construction home, we did not design it, but we loved everything about it BUT the Electric Fireplace. We would like to change it out and have been doing a lot of research about Alcohol Burning fireplaces, does anyone have any experience with these?

In theory, I think we should be able to take the existing "firebox" and electrical components out and replace it with a Alcohol Burning Firebox the same size... then viola... real flames not more cheesy plastic waving with a fan.

I think that this would be a much better alternative to installing a real chimney, flue, etc... there is a beautiful mantle with built in cabinets around both side (floor to ceiling) so we want to do as little "reconstruction" to that area as possible.

    Any suggestions?
