    Mom giving custody to state
My fiancé has a 15 yr. old daughter who lives with her mom in Florida. He tried for several years to get custody and mom refused.now the daughter is in trouble for truancy, she is sexually active, drinks, and we think drugs. We don't want to take her now and mom wants to give to state.. does he still pay child support? If so do they both have too?

The State will collect for the care of the child from BOTH parents and will apply for a Court Order - the support your fiancé is currently paying could be reduced or increased, depending on what the State of Florida requests.

Your fiancé (obviously) will not pay the child support to the child's mother if the mother does not have custody.

Your fiancé can also apply for a change in support and not wait to see what the State is going to do.

Is your fiancé paying direct to the mother or to a state agency? If the latter then nothing changes. He can apply for a modification of the support based on the change in Custody.

On a side note, now is when this girl NEEDS you more than before. It's a shame she is being abandoned by her parents.
