    Procrastination problems!
I procrastinate sooo much... now it is starting to effect my academic career. I need to know if there is anyway that I can prevent myself from procrastinating so much.

Work on becoming aware of times when you're procrastinating, and pay attention to your excuses for doing so; keep a small notebook in your pocket and write down the excuses as they occur. You'll probably notice a pattern emerging over time. Each time you write down an excuse, challenge it: ask yourself, is this really a good reason for procrastinating? Procrastinating MUST have some benefit for you - otherwise, why would you be doing it?

When you are aware you're procrastinating, focus on the negative consequences of doing so. What will I pay for my decision to procrastinate, and will that cost be greater than the benefit of procrastinating?

If a task is overwhelming, realize we only need to do one thing at a given time. Identify that one thing you need to do, and do it. Let the final outcome take care of itself; if you do each mini-task well, the final outcome will be good enough.
