    Early Lease Termination ?s TX
    Hello,

    I need some help. I signed a 12 month lease on a duplex back in January. It has been a nightmare with neighbors and pests as well as problems with the duplex. The management company and owner would always say they were going to send someone out and never did. I had to pay the pest company and certain repairs. It was recently sold as an investment property and now has a new property manager and new owner. After explaining all my problems to the new property manager, she is allowing me to get out of the lease if I can find someone to start a new lease - not a sublet. I found someone recently to start the lease next month and the property manager is allowing the new tenant to give me her deposit and they will transfer mine over to her. I want to be protected and make sure this doesn't come back to burn me since they are not on the original lease I signed since it was a different property manager. I have not talked to the owner since they are out of state and the property manager says she can take care of everything. What would be the best thing to get the property manager to sign to cover myself with an early termination?

    Get her to sign something that says that she is authorized to sign leasing-related documents on behalf of the landlord. That should be sufficient.
