    Busted pipes
I am going to buy a house. But the pipes busted in the place before it could be winterized. What is it going to cost me to fix the place? There doesn't appear to be mold but I do know that it's a one story and there is water damage everywhere.

I don't know why you would even consider buying it after what you have seen. If you are serious then have someone look at it, like an appraisor who can tell you just what has to be done. We can even assume what needs to be done from your description.

First off get the house inspected so you will know all the defects before closing. Then get three estimates on repiping the house and any other repairs needed. The expense of repair will offset the purchase price of the house. Good luck, Tom
