Almost all of his gifts were cards with money enclosed and he is planning to put all toward a laptop for college. In each of his notes he has thanked them for using the specific amount they have given him and then told them he is putting it toward the computer he is planning on purchasing. A friend of mine told me it is not proper to use the amount of money in a thank you note. Is that correct? She said her mother taught her that. We want to know if that is true or something her mom just taught her. He wanted to make sure they knew he knew exactly what they had given him and that he was paying attention and truly appreciative.
