    Craftsman Mower Electric PTO
The wires coming out of the electric PTO overheated and burnt the wires up that are inside the electric PTO. Now the mower will not crank to start. Is there a way to jump wires to take the PTO out of the circuit so I can start the mower. The battery shows plenty of voltage so I know it is not shorted out. How much work to change the PTO? I want to make sure it will start before I purchase a PTO. What would have caused this wire plug to overheat?

In a follow up to my post I found a fuse in the wiring harness blown. I replaced the fuse and now the starter tries to engage but only makes a clunk like the engine can't turn. When I engage the clutch I get nothing as I should. Could the clutch be locked not letting the engine turn? I am going to remove the belts tomorrow to see if it makes a difference. Thanks
