Pressure switch on inducer motor clicking and shutting down the system...
    Model: KG7TC 060D-24B
    Gibson/Nordyne

    Hi All,
This problem has been going on for month. I've had 6 HVAC techs come in to check and failed.

The pressure switch on the inducer motor is clicking and the furnace shuts down. There is a "poof"... "poof" noise that inducer motor is making and the pressure switch is clicking.

We've checked all the drains and seems to be working fine. Nordyne told one of the tech to replace the outlet header box as they have manufacturing fault in older model. Other techs said that's lame. Also, the outlet header box pressure switch is not tripping, it's the once connected to the inducer motor.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let's see if I can get a solution online... I'm tried of paying 6 techs for not solving my problem.

    Thanks!

Did they show up with an ohmmeter and test the components?

You may also be in line for a failed house calls. Same company sent the techs?

Yes, they checked the components and everything was fine. I'm suspecting there is water getting stuff in the inducer motor that's altering the airflow causing "poof-poof" sounds. But when I take the inducer motor off... I only see a little bit of moisture in the back of the outlet header box... nothing major at all.

I've had 3 different companies come in - as after not figuring out the problem and charging money... they stop responding to my call.

Also, if the furnace is shutdown for a while and started again... it runs fine for 20 minutes or so before it starts acting up again... again thinking condensation problem somewhere...

I'm trying to follow Nordyne Phone tech support advice and replace the outlet header box... (not that it would do anything). The rubber cement is too stiff and it's not coming off. Any tricks?
