Kenmore 665.17463300 dishwasher. Heating coil on 24/7, how can I get it to turn off?
Just replaced the control panel cover yesterday. Pegs holding the face on were broken. No new parts other than the plastic cover. Now the heating ring on the inside heats whenever the door is fully closed. Even when the dishwasher is sitting, not on. What can I do to fix this. I tried to reset it by, 1. turning the power source, breaker, off for 30 minutes. 2. Pressing "Sani Rinse" and then "Air Dry" back and forth 3 times. This cause all the lights to flash, but the heat ring on the bottom was still heating. I can still run the washer OK, but I'm afraid that it might start a fire if I accidentally close the door all the way. Please help.

You have a dead short from how you put it back together. You need to take it apart and fix it before it will work. Here are some manuals: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...ishwashers.zip

Get a meter so you can check it, too. Apparently, something is either pressing on a wire or connection when the door closes or is shorted to the wire coming from the door switch.
