    Reduce stack pipe
I have a soil stack pipe in my bathroom I want to have reduced in height. My house was built c1965 The pipe is black and has the word Flexpipe written on it.
What I would like to know is ,is this an asbestos product ? I cant find an reference to this make of pipe on line.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks

Probably ABS, possibly Orangeburg but I'd be surprised, doubt Asbestos, particularly in black.

Are you talking about a vent stack or a toilet drain line?

Does it have tar-like coating on the outside ?

Yes it does, not tacky though.

We can't be 100% sure without a picture... see if you can post a picture here. Also, as Ballenger asked, is this a vent pipe or what exactly is the pipe for ( where does it go)?

    Let us know more, OK?

Can you snap a picture of the Brand name on the side of the pipe ? Also, if there are any other numbers or names, manufacturer's info, etc... please, include it as well.

    Back to you
