At this point, get a new one. The SEER levels are much higher and you can get a 6K BTU unit for $100 or so.

This AC unit throws the condensate water onto the condenser coils to increase the efficiency. All you need to do to make it work like new is to clean it thoroughly with coil cleaner and a water hose. It's extremely dirty right now and must be cleaned at least once a year and in Florida, twice a year. Take off the cover then take off the covers that are on top of the coils, especially the indoor coils. Spray both sides of the coils with alkaline coil cleaner available at any HVAC parts store. Then wash it out with a spray nozzle on a water hose. You will have to turn it on its side to dump the water. Don't worry, it will not hurt it at all; it's made for it. Just make sure to clean the drain hole at the bottom of the indoor coil drain pan. It's usually just an indentation at the back of a Styrofoam pan. You may want to bleach it to kill any mold. Wear eye, hand, and breathing protection when cleaning the AC unit. That means to wear rubber gloves, a dust mask, and a face shield. Coil cleaner will eat you up. You can also use Easy-Off oven cleaner, the alkaline kind that foams. It has sodium hydroxide in it.
