    I agree with Scott...samples are a great idea to introduce product and meet potential clients!

    Letters of introduction are a thing of the past - they are tossed in the recycle bin, unread.
    You need to catch the eye in less than 3 seconds, usually with a glossy postcard or folded card (folded is more postage). Picture on one side, sample prices and contact data on the other.
    Expect return contact of about 1 to 3%, if you are lucky.
    Cakes aren't things that are ordered routinely by businesses. So good advertising in yellow pages and online is much better for this kind of product. Mostly online - a good website.

    You MUST have a sale. People really do respond to them. Be sure it's clear when it ends.
