Find a State water heater distributer in your area and get the thermocouple and replacement gasket kit and change out the thermocouple assembly. While changing the thermocouple, you are also required to change out the gasket that comes with the kit (keeps the combustion chamber leak free).

A local plumbing supply store will most likely have the correct parts (call 1st).
