:confused: my BJC 2100 printer printed the night before I shut down my computer and the next morning I try to print nothing happens. The printer head moves to the center and remains there without printing. No paper is being spooled either. After a minute, error message "this document failed to print" comes up. I've tried everything and don't know what's wrong. How can regain the use of my printer

Sounds like something wrong with the carriage. Try removing and reinstalling the printer, but if that doesn't work, probably time for a replacement.

I think, the print head is gone, but the new one costs 100 EUR, and it's too difficult to find. Time for a new printer I think - maybe HP is a better choice.
