    Canon BJC-2100 print head
Hello, I've a problem with a printer Canon BJC-2100. When I turn it on, the print head moves in the middle and stops there, no matter the printer is connected or isn't connected to the computer. When I turn off the printer, the print head remains in the middle. What means this?? The print head nozzles are OK, the ink flows normally, and they are not clogged. The switch for the opened front cover is also OK, I've checked it. Printing monitor says "No printhead detected" - or something like this.
How to solve the problem, what was the cause for this problem? Please help me!

    Thank you in advance!

The same happened to my printer Canon BJC 2100 a week ago. I thought, it was a problem with a thunderstorm, because the problem appeared over night. In the evening the printer worked as usual, the next day errors appeared on the computer, even a new printer type has been detected.

I measured the power supply: 5V and 19V, but on the plastic case I read 5V and 24V - could be the problem, but there is no damage visible on the electronic of the power supply (nothing black, melted, bursted or smelling awfully). Does anybody know, if the voltage of 19V is sufficient?

On different homepages I read that there is the possibility to do a reset for the "waste ink" counter. I do not know, if the printer signals this problem with the cartridge holder. Didn't do a reset until now.

I don't know whether this voltage has something in common with the problem, because printer does the boot initalization, but only when the cartridge is at its home position (I moved it manually there), after power on it stops at the center and nothing more. I've tried to reset the waste ink, but this was not the problem. I think the cartridge have to be replaced, but it's difficult to find such one. So better go for a new printer.
