I have a 2.2KVA (2.5KVA at Max) Electric Generator, within about 200 Hours of usage, I observed that the frequency droped to 25 (as indicated on the Hour Meter to read: F-25) from 60.
The Voltage remain costant as 230V, so please how do I increase the Frequency back to 60 as the Generator can no longer carry Fridge as when the Freqency was 60.
Did you check the speed of the engine and AVR settings?

Really I do not know to check or confirm the Speed, except through the audible noise from the generator that will denote that, it is running really fast. The LCD on the on the generator only display:
*Voltage
*Frequency
*Hours/Minutes of Usage
*Cumulative Hour of usage.
When I powered up the generator few hours ago, the generator was running low in speed (noticed via the sound), but the Voltage still remain 230V, I then noticed that the Frequency was 60Hz, but after running for a few minutes, the generator increased automatically in speed the frequency dropped to 26Hz!
After noticing the above, I then manually reduced the Running Speed of the Generator, to my surprise, the frequency promptly increased to 60Hz/65hz!
With the increase in the frequency, I observed that, the Fans in the House increased blowing/rotating speed too!
Kindly advice please, can I continue to use the generator in the manner? I mean, I hope it will not have negative effect on the generator or any house appliance.

Use a tachometer(mechanical or electronic)
This is a small portable Generator... I'm betting he's losnig one set of the poles on the generator head at times. Since most of these are 4 pole generator heads... losing 1/2 would drop your frequency in 1/2 and the reduced load might play a little havoc with the mechanical governor. (though it really shouldn't by much)
Have all the basic checks been done? Does this model have brushes?
Are all connections tight, inside and out?

Replacing the brushes may solve the problem...

Best solution? That is yours to decide...
If you verified that the brushes are good and do not need to be replaced, that all connections are tight, all wiring is in good condition, then the generator may need to be replaced...

Well let's see... so far you have done nothing...
So far all I have recommended is that you check the brushes...
Checking the brushes will cost about two minutes... if they are very short then sometime
Soon you will damage the generator.
If the brushes are good then the problem is elsewhere and we have narrowed the search and can then test or examine other possibilities...

Yes, I have checked the brushes and find out that, the brushes are still long and good.
