    Mtd ignition wiring
I have an MTD ride-on mower. Model 13AD604G501. The ignition switch is part number MTD 925-1741 (7pin) The mower starts fine and runs fine but there are 2 problems. The lights don't come on (light position on the ignition switch) and The off position won't shut down the motor. I know it has to be electrical but I can't find a wiring diagram for the ignition to be able to test anything. If you have any ideas or answers to what might be causing this, or a link to a wiring diagram I would really appreciate it.
    Thanks much

On the ignition switch you probably will find two green ground wires. One goes to a ground point some where. The other goes to the ignition coil. That one probably has a disconnect in it. If disconnected, the ignition switch will not ground the ignition coil when turned to off.

There should be a fuse in the light circuit. Trace from ignition switch to headlights. Check ground wire for head lights.

    Hi,
There is one thing that both of those circuits have in common and that is a ground. To complete the circuit for the lights and to ground the ignition to shut the engine off. That is what I would look for - a black wire not connected or broken. Here is a picture of the wirring harness.
    Peace,
