    No, requires different wiring. Some compressors are dual voltage 120 or 240. Look at your motor plate.
    PS -voltage is now 120/240 not 110/220.

    I'm going to see if this thread can be moved to the Electrical - Lighting forum. You have an electrical failure, not an appliance failure.

    Some quick questions:

    Was this compressor working before and suddenly quit?

    Is this a new installation?

    Does the plug from the compressor's cord match the recptacle at the outlet?

    Have you verified that the breaker has not been inadvertly switched off?

    Have you taken a voltage reading at the receptacle to see if it at 0 (zero) volts? If you don't have a multimeter, you can get one at most harware stores.
