Ok first things first. I'm Mormon. I'm also going to college next year. There's no way I would even consider taking advantage of a 14 year old girl, or any girl really. So if sex is out of the question, do you think it is all right for me to date her even if I'm 2 years older than her? I haven't asked her out yet but we both really like each other. I am mature enough to know that this probably isn't love, but doesn't love just mean that you are chemically compatible? I don't know. Let me know what you think.

Since sex is out of the question it sounds mature. Now, it's only out of the question if her parents don't allow it.

My only issue is, if at 16, going to be 17, you are going to college, what do you have in common with a 14 year? It seems you are at two completely separate points in life.

But I would say that doing group dating and group ativities may be more proper at this ages

Ask her parents first. This way you will know if you should even bother asking her out. Also, if you are going to college in a year, and you are still dating this young girl, it may be difficult to find her mature enough for you when you are surrounded by 17+ year olds. Take her future feelings into consideration before asking her out.

A 2 year difference, even at your age is not a big issue. I don't see any problem with dating her as long as her parents agree.

The only issue I would have is if you plan on going away to college, then your relationship may not last.

As for your question about chemically compatibility, no love is not just a chemical reaction. Yes hormones do have something to do with it, but its more than that.
