First, you need a stop valve AND a cap or plug at the fireplace...don't just leave the stop valve open ended, O.K?
Next step will be to BLEED the air out of the lines that you introduced when you messed with the fir log gas supply. Here, your best bet is to loosen the union fitting and the flexible gas connector at the heater and cooker, respectively mand bleed some air out of the line. You only need to bleed the lines until you smell gas and then retighten the connections using two wrenches or pair of pliers. After that try lighting the pilot at the heater and try reigniting the burners at the cooker...may take a minute and you still need to follow directions and be careful, but that should get you up and working again!
Let me know how you make out...
