If later on there is still no period and you're still going through those same symptoms, you should go to your ob/gyn and get another test done. If still negative, request a blood test because those are much more accurate. W

Was the doctors test a urine or blood test ?

10 days, if you are looking at from the date the period may have started, is barely late, I would wait a week, then if no period still, take a test, but do it first thing in the morning as soon as you wake up
