We want to update our kitchen island lighting by replacing our current large fluorescent lighting with three pendant lights. The current Island light has to 2 fluorescent bar lights. Is this possible?

Once the existing fixtures are removed, you may need to have outlet boxes installed at the proposed location of the new fixtures, to contain the wiring and splices, and to support the new fixtures.

Obviously, the ceiling surface may need to be patched and painted to fill in any holes left over from the fluorescent fixtures.
