80 days have passed and the worker showed up at our home unannounced while we were at school. We have heard nothing in regards to case and the courts in June has lifted all orders and my ex testified he believed the baby was safe and placed him back in our care. Can workers show up after 60 days unannounced? And what are the likelihood of the case turning up unfounded?

No we didn't thank you. My sons father is a jealous maniac and accused my fiancé of abusing ME after a sporting accident when I damaged my face. Courts saw there were no markings on his hands and that we were sincere and my sons father rescinded all accusations and we have been back home for over a month. Court is over. CPS has not come when they said they would, will not answer my calls and I just wanted to know my rights passed 60 days when case is closed.
My son also told the caseworker no one hurt me and exclaimed he wanted to go home several times.Quote:

Yes CPS could show up, of course you could have refused entry stating the case has been closed.
I was under the impression that a case is closed after 60 days. Courts told me that and that's what my paperwork says. They must come to an answer on the investigation. Since I have not heard anything, I was wondering the likelihood of it being unfounded or if it's even legal to stop by. The worker has mismanaged this case a great deal since day 1. Not cooperating with the courts and the like. Just wondering what my rights are.Quote:

Wanted to know if it's common practice for them to dothat and if it's legal for them to just show up after the case is supposed to be closed. It is very nerve wracking having false allegations made against you and not knowing the outcome of the decision.Quote:

I don't know ANYTHING about this 60 day thing... Didn't some clerk at the courthouse tell you that?? That ISN'T where I'd get my legal advice.
If the cops (CPS) thinks there's something going on, they'll come, and they'll come, and they'll come again.. Frankly, I'm happy they do. I don't like child abusers. But, I also don't like overzealous cops.
They're COPS. They're LOOKING for crime. If they find NONE, they won't file charges. Will they TELL you they found none? NO. The only way you'll find out is if they NEVER file charges against you.

Paperworksays they have 60 days to complete the investigation. It's far past that. They have to have a decision unfounded or indicated. Just wondering if anyone has experienced an unfounded case where they came back after the investigation should have been closed. I also assumed (since it was so mishandled and neglected by the workers) that this case just wasn't serious to them because the claims were so far fetched. I hate child abusers as much as the next, and I also dislike over zealous social workers from CPS. Just wanted to know if anyone had gone through something similar.
