October 2010 a had a new house built. The furnace and ac is a Distinctions. The model number is: CAPF3030B6BA and serial number is: 1006766521.

In a 1 1/2 years the compressor has gone out. I would like to know if this model continues to be made and if compressors are readly available.

The unit came from Goodman Company in Houston, Texas.

I am sure the compressor is still available but by the time you buy it and have it installed you might consider getting a new unit with a warranty. Actually I would be finding out why the compressor went bad to start with. I have 3 central airs in this home and one was installed in 1978 and the other 2 were installed in 1985 and none of them has ever had a compressor replaced.

Usually compressor replacement is caused by a bad install or improper setup and service. Some new units do come with a 10 year warranty on parts and labor so keep that in mind while you are searching for a real qualified company to do the work since the last company you used did not seem to do so well.
