    Missouri garnishment law
Creditor applied to garnishs my wages. My company stated I do not make enough( I only work pt), then they garnish my bank account. However it only receives child support. The bank then gave them funds from a cd account which was a joint acct.

So? You owed money, they obtained a judgement. They then used that judgment to attach assets you are listed as an owner of. Perfectly normal and legal.

Yes that is how it works, if the other person in the joint account can prove it was their money, they can file in court to try and get it back. ( not your problem)

But yes this is how it works.
