    1099 Misc
I received a 1099 Misc for some social work I did for a company. They reported it as nonemployee compensation. I'm not sure if that is right though.

While I was employed with this company I assisted mentally ill clients. There was specific paper work I had to fill out which was then submitted to medicaid. Medicaid paid the company I worked for and then the company paid me the set wages per hour. We also had staff meetings we were required to attend which were unpaid. I didn't have set hours when I had to work but I did have a set amount of hours I had to work each week.

Would that still be considered non employee compensation?? And would I have to fill out a schedule C or additional forms?? I did keep records of my mileage and meals with clients etc.

    It IS non-employee compensation.

You will need to report the income on Schedule C.

You MAY have to also file Schedule SE.
