So, I've been dating this boy for almost a year and a half and he farts like all the time. Now I've been raised as a lady and that guys should never do things like that in front of a lady. Now we just woke up and he farted around 4 or 5 times and then rolls over to try and have sex with me. That's gross. He feels as if I should just deal with it, but I am just utterly put off by it. I'm completely fine if you let one slip by accident every once in a while but he does it at least 10 times a day. I honestly can't deal with it anymore. I just want to hear everyone else's side to this. What do you all think on the matter?

I think you need to learn facts of basic life, this is not a dinner party but at home.

Well I think he needs to show you more respect we all have like and dislikes and we need to respect them

You know, farting is natural and some guys do it more than others. Some do it more often simply for a reaction. I know I do. I enjoy the fun that comes from a good fart.

Seriously... if it bothers you that much, and you can't get over yourself, then talk to him.

To be honest, maybe you should just lighten up a little.

Frankly, if he doesn't do it in the supermarket, church, in restaurants and other public places, I don't see it as problematic.
In the privacy of the home where comfort is the norm, not a problem.
Maybe not in front of your Mother.
If it is problem speak with him about and just maybe this too shall pass.

Some people naturally produce excessive amounts of gas. Maybe it hurts if he doesn't let it out.
I know that this wouldn't bother me. I think you should take it as a sign that he is comfortable enough with you and that he doesn't want to deal with the stomach-ache of excessive gas when he's in your company.

While its not polite to obviously expel gas in front of someone, it is a natural process, and maybe he is just comfortable with you to relax.

Now I raised a my daughter as a lady and a lady doesn't live with or spend the night with a "boy" she isn't married to. So maybe you weren't raised as much as a lady as you claim.

But the bottom line is whether you have discussed your concerns with him. Like I said, maybe he just feels comfortable enough with you to relax and doesn't know how you react to it.

My husband does it all the time and what bothers me is the horrendous odor. You can tolerate your own but I cannot tolerate someone else's foul gas smell and my husband thinks its funny. He is insulted that I hate the smell and feels I should tolerate it as if the smell is pleasant. I think, if you can, go somewhere else and expel the gas in private and don't subject someone else to your foul smelling gas!
