My sister is 16 years old and lives with my father who is an alcoholic. I'm 20 and moved out at 16 because I couldn't put up with him and she shouldn't have to either. I practically raised her myself my whole life. My question is if she wanted to come live with me could she legally? At what age can kids decide where they live? I live in North Carolina if that makes a difference. Id love to just take it to court but I don't have the money to dish out on a lawyer.

She can make the choice at 18, before that she is a run away.
