I am in the process of finishing my basement and intend to have a half bath using the saniflo product. The future vent is approximately 15 feet from where the sink and toilet will be located. It is located between the joists. Is this distance a problem? If not, is the anything special I need to consider given the distance?

A Saniflow Installation unit requires two vents, a pit vent andn a fixture vent. I./m guessing you're referring to the fixture vent. This is a dry vent, correct? Nothing draining from above? What's it venting now? You will have to cut a tee in the vent and run it over to pick up the lavatory. So much for the length of the vet run, Your toilet will be wet vented by the lavatory. As I understand it Saniflo now allows the pit vent to vent back to the house system. So you may be able to revent the pit back to the same vent as then fixture vent. Good luck, Tom

The toilet connects to the saniflo macerator unit via a flexible connector. The lavatory drain connects into the side of the saniflo macerator unit.

The lavatory vent and the saniflo macerator pump vents connect together and run over to the future vent. This vent must pitch down from the future vent to the lavatory sink vent at about 1/4"pitch pere foot of pipe.

The saniflo macerator drain must connect into a large gravity drain pipe and needs to pitch from the highest point (at the macerator pump) to the lowest point (large gravity drain pipe) at about 1/4" pitch per foot.

Fifteen feet is not an excessive distance from the pump so you are all set there.

They also make a sanicompact toilet for a half bath installation (not recommended by me, but an option if space is super tight)... sink connects into the side... that requires different venting setup than presented above.

Thank you both. Mark - One more follow up question. You indicated to pitch the vent pipe from the future vent to the lavatory sink vent at 1/4" per foot. I was slightly incorrect on my measurements so I just want to verify my understanding. The pipe would come out of the future vent and run 19 feet. I would then need to attach a 90 degree elbow and run for another 9 feet. Does this mean that I would pitch it 4.75" on the 9 foot run, turn 90, and pitch it for 2.25" for the next 9 feet? From that point, I would run it straight down toward the sink and pitch the connection from the sink vent to a tee on this pipe?

Yup... you'll need a total pitch of 7" (4.75 for 19 ft run + 2.25 for the 9 ft run) exactly as you figured.

From the point the vent runs straight down into the sink drain you will branch off (at about 42" off the finish floor) and pick up the vent for the macerator pump... be sure to invert (turn upside down) the tee fitting in the vent for the macerator pump.
