Defending a person being assaulted
Recently my girlfriend was assaulted in her apartment by another man. I was there and when she told him to leave he refused, and then started pushing her around. All I did was grab the guy and push him out the door. Now she's being evicted and I'm being sued... Because I put my hands on him. What are the laws on this and how can I defend my actions? My father taught me you don't put your hands on a woman, and she is my girl and that's not right, and I don't think what's happening to us is right. Please help.
