My TV shuts off after about 10 minutes. The lamp light blinks and then the power light blinks five times and then the lamp light again. I called panasonic. They said I had I had to call a repair man... $96 just to come tell me what's wrong. Any suggestions?

Hate to tell you , but unless you are an electronics guy with his own test equipment, know how these TV's work and can read schematics (after you pay to buy a set)... you are going to be calling a repair guy.

They charge for a call to find out what's woring for a good reason. It takes time. Time is money to anyone who works for a living. Spend 45 minute to an hour with someone to find the problem only to find they say no... they don't want to spend the money. And it costs fuel and time to drive to and from your house.

Just so you know why there is a minimum charge.

$96 is not bad. My company charges $150 for trip and diagnostic.

I'm not sure off the top of my head what the 5 blink error means.

I will say this, whatever it is, could get replaced or repaired and in two weeks something else could go next. You're probably better off buying a new TV if you don't want to be spending money on repairs. It'll become a cat and mouse game.
