30 days notice, new lease requirement
I had a one year lease on an apt, and I'm now month to month.I gave my landlord 30 days written notice that I was vacating my Los Angeles apt. 1 week before the end of the 30 days, I was unable to move, contacted the landlord and he verbally agreed to let me stay if I gave him written notice. Upon receiving the notice, he is now demanding that I sign a new lease agreement for 4 months. I don't want to sign another lease. In California, does he have to give me 30 days notice if I don't sign? He hasn't rented the unit, I'm current on the rent, he verbally agreed to let me stay. Can he evict me in the 3 days left in the month w little cause?
