How do I get the lower housing off my Harbor Breeze ceiling fan.
My fan is not a pull chain style. It has 1 lense (obscure glass 10" diameter. and a metal frame 12" diameter which I think is screwed onto th main body of the fan. The arrow on the housing indicate --turn to the left. I can't seem to get enough traction to make it rotate. My fan works but I need to get to my light bulb. Any suggestions? The model number of the fan is AC527(AER525LKRC)"NN". THANKS--FRED

Put your palm facing up againist the globe push up slightly and give a sharp twist counterclockwise.

In order to change the fan blades on the AER525LKRC Harbor Breeze fan, the fan must be removed from the ceiling. Remove the six bolts securing the round metal trim ring to the top of the unit. Lift the cover and the 3 bolts for each of the fan blades will now be accessible.

I am fairly certain MyMoron does not want to remove the blades, just the globe so he can replace the bulb.
