I was driving about 45-50 MPH and my car stopped running. It will crank but will not start. I thought it was the timing belt but, it is still in tact.
It could be lots of reasons but the most important are:
1) Faulty Electronic Control Module (ECM)
2) Crankshaft position sensor
3) Fuel pump
Good luck
If the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II), then I would replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil:

While you are into the distributor, I would also replace the rotor and distributor cap. Afterwards, ohm-out the wires to see if they are okay.
