My boyfriend has very good health insurance, and is who I'd like to have custody of my daughter if anything where to happen to me. I believe what I need to do is let him adopt her. You are correct that your boyfriend will need to adopt. And that means the bio father will need to agree to the adoption. Most steps require that you be married to allow an adoption.
