    My cats in labour
    My cat gave birth at 3.30am 2 one kitten who is feeding well but I can still feal kittens inside her do I need 2 contact a vet as she hasn't had the others yet or do I leave her 2 it ?

    Hi clare, you should try to keep this in the same thread as you posted in before. That way you are creating a history anyone here can access and know what your issue is. As I said before, it is not unusual for the queen to have her kittens spaced out a bit. When did she have the first one and exactly how long has it been?

    She had the first one at 3.30 am (uk time) so its been just over 12 hours ago the kittens doing really well and so is mum just no sign of the other kittens

    I think you should call the vet, clare. But forgot to ask, is this her first litter, because it does make a difference as to length of time for her to deliver all kittens, but quantity may vary. Could be she is only going to have one, but the vet can tell by an ultra sound how many are still to come.

    I know this has already been cleared up by mother nature, but I just wanted to explain something.

    Cats can stop labor for up to one full day if they feel uncomfortable, unsafe, bothered, or any other reason that they feel that continuing labor at that time is not good for her and/or the babies. As long as there are no signs of distress and there aren't any contractions, then it's usually safe to assume that labor will resume later.
